Just an FYI...
You may consider talking to a lawyer about this. So often the big MSO's pull this type of crap with contractors and for all intents and purposes, it violates the rules when it comes to being a contractor. They are treating you like an employee (sort of)
A company can not hire a contractor and then call the employment shots over things like you describe. (The Microsoft litmus test)
It would be worth the discussion and if you can pull it off, more power to you.
In the future, you may want to have your ducks in a row and well planned before you throw in your notice.
