Hello Men, I want to thank all the men and women who responded to my posting. Thank you to all wheather it was a compliment or a thrashing. Regardless this is the type of interaction we need. Us older guys have been around for a long time in this industry. We have seen it go from a great thing to be a part of to wishing we could all just go do somthing else. We need to show all the young men or the not so young men the new men in the industry, the privelidge we have to work in this type of work. I consider it a privelidge and a honor to do this type of work. I know that not just anybody can go and do it. Sure thay may be able to swap a lasher, frame a pole, and all that jive. But will thier reputation follow them in a manner that will keep them busy. Will thier mannerism while talking to thier suporvisors keep them from getting blackballed or stuck into a group of workers with bad attitudes. Attitude will take you far in this industry. Good attitude, ethics, and quality work, thats what its all about. We all remember what our dad's told us growing up "a job worth doing, is a job worth doing right". Kink said I should not have to defend myself or the men who work with me, he is right. I owe it to the industry that has provided a roof over my head and meals on my table. The industry that gave my kids a great life. We need to instill this in all the new boots. I go back to work Wednesday after a much needed break of five days. My Daughter came home to visit. I hope all you men go to work and have a safe and productive week. Saftey first guys, I cant stress that enough. I know wearing a harness in the basket is not cool, I know setting up signs and cones takes time and all those safety regulations take time but they are in place for a reason, for us and the general public.
