When I activate resi customer I tell the phone rep no phone line connected. LOTS of people in FL do not have land lines so it is understandable to DTV.
If the customer wants a phone line I use (and charge customer) a wireless "sticky" jack. It takes 3 to 4 minutes to install.
The customer gets the best deal if they set up profile with directv.com and order on-line (when it is working).
