Depending what state your in, tendering a check with the fore-knowledge of their being no funds to honor that instrument is a felony. Deposit that check in your account and when it fails to clear after several attempts you can then take that check to a branch of the bank that check is from and pay a fee to have the bank give you a refer to maker letter and take that letter and the check to the state police and press charges.
