CPD is cuased by corosion of two disimalar metals at a point in the plant where the forward and reverse signals are both present.
When you pull a pad, tap plate, diplexer or anything that removes signal from the line CPD can go away and may take weeks to come back. Your best bet is to use a line probe or pin to F-connector to check the line without taking signal off.
