Consumption Tax has three overall positive values.
1. makes every one who spends money aware of just how much the government over spends, which might make fiscal conservatives out of voters who will then demand same from there elected representatives
2. Eliminates the cheating of current system by those who under report their income.
3. Eliminates The current IRS system and the Billions spent by Corps and Individuals on paper work
If I can remember right, we spend as a nation privately and corporately around $850 billion a year on tax preparation, That’s a whole lot of money!
A Consumption Tax by all manner of speaking is the fairest way to go providing you do not charge a Tax on Food, medicine, Medical Care. A Consumption Tax eliminates the current IRS system and eliminates the hassle for current employer’s handling the mandatory tax deductions and reporting needs.
What hits the poor the hardest is the FUTA taxes paid regardless of income that is Medicare,Medicaid, and Socialist Security. Generally around 17% of income combined with the employers share. Ask yourself why does the U.S. Government take 17% from the paychecks of the poor to give to anyone over the age of 65 a guaranteed income and medical expenses ??? Regardless of need ! ?
