Re: Becoming a prime

there are 2 ways. Charter uses thier engineering dept to create a master contractor list. you apply with charter through the st louis headquarters. the list is fairly small, but they have pre-requisites. such are full safety programs ( written ) 3million in revenue for 3 years, no bankruptcies, etc. kinda tough for a new company, most new companies are actually old companies buying out others...

the second, is most likely for you.

Print up brochures, advertising your experience, make sure you have a professional appearance with your logo and pictures, and direct-mail it to ALOT of local cable companies. you can get Installation managers phone numbers by calling each city and talking to customer service. Eventually, you will land in the right place at the right time and get a call back. how you sell yourself after that makes the difference of wether they give you a shot or not.

Most people are right about the money, but venture capital firms will provide it for a piece of the action. Dont worry about giving up a piece, live frugal for a year and you can operate it all yourself.
