Believing that there is a God is definitely a no-brainer.
The Word says that creation exempiflies to us the fact that there was a Creator.
But we aren't saved by believing that there is a God who created us magnificiently. We aren't saved by always putting BC or AD when we refer to years. We aren't saved by thinking we are greater than monkey so we couldn't have come from monkeys.
We aren't saved by going to church. We aren't saved by taking communion. We aren't saved by never looking at a porn site.
In James, he says "You believe in God? You do well (sarcastically).
The Devils believe and tremble also!"
We are saved through repentance which in turn Christ grants us Salvation. We are saved by the Blood of Jesus Christ alone!
If I think, believe, or do anything else to save me or to add to the Salvation the Lord has granted me, I spit on Christ. I basically tell Christ that his Blood was not good enough to save me. I basically throw Christ out the window saying well I am saved by Christ but also because I built homes in Mexico. This is a lie!!!!
And many Christians fall for it including myself.
We do things for the glory of God!--not be secure our salvation.
We serve Him. He is not only our Savior but our Lord!
