You should read my posting to farreach above; as far as your pay and dues; The employees decide what the wages should be; not the union leadership and this is subject to bargaining; secondly, union dues are 1.666% of your total gross. Newly organized units pay no initiation fee, which, for future new members of the shops are determined by the local that the shop is in. Or if you form your own local, you decide what the Initiation fee will be. Furthermore, under our Sector By-laws, you pay NO dues or fees until you have a ratified, signed contract. And incidentally, under our bylaws, if the membership rejects the contract, it cannot be signed off by the National Union. The members of the shop have total control over their contract from start to finish.
