It has nothing to do with accents. Now that I think of it, I'm not sure there's a benefit to using a factor in the same region, whether I'm working in TN, FL, or PA. Would you go 50 miles to get something you could get down the street, all else being equal? I didn't know this was a niche market, but that makes sense.
Maybe there's other factors in TX that specialize in CATV. I definitely remember finding more than one years ago when I was lurking in this bar.
