Its a joke. A way to keep the scum in line. If they pay for $30,000 worth of training, they'd have an issue. But if you come from the background, they can kiss your behind.

I was doing drops during a slow period. I gave a two week notice, he said where ya goin. I said "back to mdu's" . He had no contract for that, but because the company I was going to was doing drops too, he threatened to sue and garnish my wages.
Claimed no-compete clause.

Fact was, he was trying to get the mdu work, and knew he wouldn't be able to do it if he didn't have the contractors. If I left, someone else would follow, yada yada, protecting his business.

They all want you to sign something like this, so you can't get them to raise their prices to keep you. Get you to sign up stupid, then scare you to stay.

Of course, if the next contractor is in cahoot's with the first, you could be in trouble.
