bottom line
dont mess around with the perfect splice.... the units used today are almost fool proof.... you have a -0.04 splice it must be aligned with a splice with at least 0.04 or more loss (phisics... not my law)
with core cladding specifications @ .04um today compared with 1um 10 years ago the profile alignment systems are almost as consistent as the core systems...... you need someone with expierence to help you ... pay someone you will not regret it
