you paid the guy 17k to wreck out and he didn't finish!!! Thats as bad as paying for a hooker and not gettin any!!! Screw the "I'm being a nice guy" and all the B.S of "I'm trying to handle it legally". To hell with that!!! Drive up to this ole' boy when he's on the last rung of his ladder swinging a drop at about 20 feet. Tie a rope from his ladder to the bumper of your truck. When put your truck in drive he WILL come to life!!!!! You can do this before he ever gets his belt unfastened from the strand. When the rope gets tight ,, open your door keeping one foot one the brake and "explain" the situation to him. He should get the feel for your situation from a different perspective. This works.....TRUST ME!!! If it doesn't at least you got yourself a new ladder that you can sell and recoup a little of your money. Don't be a softie in this business, sometimes you gotta be a dick about things. Do you think his old lady is bitching at him for a 17K red mark? NOPE!!! get tuff and good luck
