Satelite

I am looking for some information as to what would be involved with feeding a satelite signal into a very small cable system. I work for a company that has 12 "vacation rental houses". Sometime ago, they had someone "build" a cable system with about 5 antennas feeding into .500 self support. I have not seen an LE on the system but they did put signal amps on each line from the antenna. I have not seen yet how they have conbined the signals. I used to work for Charter Communications and the boss asked me if there would be cheap way to put Directv or Dish Network into the system. I'm sure he wouldn't want to supply any premium channels. I have heard that with Dish Network will allow up to about 8 receivers per dish and that might be the cheapest way to go. With this, what would be the limits on distance? Thanks.
