Mowing grass versus contracting

I got home early again today from installing DTV and decided to check Hot Jobs for cable work, I noticed a new posting for experienced cable installer/tech's, this is a contract position with you supplying truck and all tools. I then looked at salary and about dropped my jigger of crown royal. They are paying trainees $10.00 an hour and experienced tech's $12.50? This is a no benefits position. I called my 16 year old son who mowes grass for spending money in the summer in and we sat down and figured out his average hourly wage and it was right at $14.00 an hour, granted he only works 4 jobs a week but i just cannot understand how someone can expect a man to pay his bills and feed his family on these wages. And when we bitch about the pay you have someone like Questar telling us to quit whining and to grow up, My reasoning is if you are paying a childs wages then you should expect to hear a little crying every now and then.
