People sure have a short memory.
Check out these facts:
After germany surrendered, it was more than 3 years before all of the Werewolf teams were finally stopped. These were small bands of Nazi loyalists that were credited with the murdering of hundreds of German apponted officials and US military personel. They also reaked havoc on the infrastructure.
Also I believe that it was well into the 60's before pretty much all of the Nazi's were actually caught.
Remember, things were much different back then, we could literally do what we wanted, and it still took years to complete.
My father was part of the occupying forces in Japan. He reported similar problems.
Why are the expectations any higher now? Technology is much better, but people are still the same. If a person does not want to be found, he can pretty much disappear. Hell Eric Rudolph did it in NC recently.
Time will fix most of the problems. Get the economy started, so most of the population has a way to make a living and the extremists are rendered for the most part impotent.
We seem to worry that we are not liked by other people in the world. This is jealosy. Nothing more. go to some of those places, not much to live off of. There is nothing more to do than to find someone to blame for the woes. We are the great Satan for some of the people in the middle east, but every damn one of them would love to live here. Check out a hotel, 7-11, Chinese restaraunt. If we are the bad guys, why would these people want to come here?
Just something to think about.
