Good point spike. But i am afraid you're not going to be able to get away from the typical big company thinking by going from cable to dishes. Dish and direct are both big companies, and have the big company way of thinking. They don't care about the customer, they care about the customer,s check each month. I also believe that it's worth the money to have a quality installation, even though it will cost a little more. But it all comes back to the bottom line. More customers, less overhead.
Like it or not, this is why the dishes have become so popular the past few years. The cable companies started to operate on a "money first" basis, and started losing their customers to dishes. Now the dish companies are following suite with the cable companies (as they have always done) and now they are starting to lose customers back to cable companies.
It really doesn't matter who you work for. The "customer first" theroy is a thing of the past.
