I am a contractor that tries to keep abreast of what the newer technology is doing. The biggest problems I hear coming back is older in house splitters, (600 Mhz when digital is ran at a higher freq) and water damage. If your system is newly upgraded and or your pm/system technicians keep a tight running plant, vod won't be an issue outside the house. From what I am seeing the majority of vod service calls are being fixed inside the home.
If your system doesn't run a documented, reoccuring sweep/noise program and your pm/system tech don't all carry tdr's, rethink launching vod until a time you have these practices in place.
