What do you do if Prime Won't pay

Ok, so we all know about contracts, and how worthless they are untill something goes wrong, and at least then you've got a rough piece of TP. But cable is a small world, so you work for people you trust. But when a Prime is supposed to pay 30 days out and it slowly turns into 60, then back to thirty, now we're out to 75,,,,, Enough is enough.

What's the point of having a Prime when they won't (or can't) float the checks to the subs? I trust the people I'm working with, but at what point do yo put friendship aside and look somewhere else. I guess 45 days past due is my limit.

SO HERE'S MY QUESTION: Has anyone had any luck getting paid after they've walked from a project?
