diesel ford is for sure the best. i have 2 trucks for coax splicing. 1 is a 2000 ford e 350 gas v8 with AT200 altec and other is a diesel e350 with a versalift. both have pumps but i find i can shut off my van quite often when i am working on bigger splices and save gas. i prefer the versalift on a van mount than altec because of the weight difference which results in less maintenence on front end etc. hope this helps!
