Thanks to all the answers. I am a rookie to this site so please bear with me. I probably should have been more descriptive with my question. I also have to be carefull of what I say since the person In question may be observing. Let me rephrase the question: If your a cable tv sub-contractor and your applying for a job at another company can your past contractor give a negative reference on you? Is the sub-contractor protected under any state employment laws?
