You can lookup the Telecommunications Act of 1996 on the FCC web site http://www.fcc.gov. It does prohibit charging for additional outlets under some circumstances but smaller systems are exempt, I believe. It's been a while though so maybe some else knows more definitively.
It's easy to define what you're willing to fight for; but what are you willing to stand for without fighting? What are you willing to lay down your life for?
