I'm not as sure about versa as altec,( worked two years for Altec as a hydraulic mech ). No it's not hard to do just watch you don't damage the boom, or danage the gel-coat, some booms are heavier than they look. Also if you want we used to do this for some of the rental (global) trucks, if you have enough room or if you have an extra hydraulic line thats not being used, run another line to replace it. Use the orange poly hose not the black steel lined hose and run the wires through the hose, it will help keep them from getting damaged and make the wiring last longer. And it is also good to replace the wear shims while you are in there.
