if you check your inputs then subtract the actual input from what the customer wants to hit the amp at you shouldn't be overdriving the hybrid. I do check the tombstone but only for reference to what the designers are saying should be hitting the amp. I don't change i/s pads unless absolutely necessary. Like cableho said the only time the tombstone is generally correct is when it's new build and perfect conditions, not in a retro where walk wasn't done properly and you have 5 straight splice and 3 different sizes of cable and 3 design changes before you get to the amp. I've been balancing for 20 yrs and never had a sweeper tell me they had a problem getting one of my amps to set up. So i guess I'll just keep balancing the "spicer only" way as you put it
