Butch Cassidy is absolutely correct. Take it from one who knows it only takes one complaint and the FEDS (not the "Stateies") will be all over your payroll records and you WILL end up owing money to piece rate workers. They go through a calculation very much like what Butch Cassidy describes, and you end up writing checks. It is a very complicated area and best advice is to consult with an attorney who is COMPETENT in Federal labor law.
