Wel as for sweeping the return I would do this first as improper return balancing can cause an elevated noise floor, so I would sweep and then lok at the return noise. The SDA 5000 can be usefull to troubleshoot return ingress but the sweep rate of that meter is not as good as a spectrum analyzer. Just my $.02
