I am in Mich. & have the same situation as you.
I pay $1000./ yr. I am also not covered.
As long as I have no claims, I get $800. back, after an audit.
They keep $200.
It doesn't make sense, but I must comply.
Most Companies require the w.c. ins.
This was with both Allstate & Hastings Mutual.
