Re: Interference ???

I have seen this situation drive folks nuts for years. In about 75% of the cases, it gets traced back to the sweep system.
Not knowing much more about your set up other than what you have stated, based on the fact that you said it goes away at 4pm and never happens on weekends, leads me to think that the sweep may be on a programmable timer or is turned off manually every day.
If you have this type of arrangement, get one of the headend techs or sweep techs to check the channel plan. Invariably there is always a sweep carrier or sweep point not set properly and it will create the popping you describe. If you are using an Acterna (Wavetek) sweep, this is a notorious problem.
