My hubby worked for the same comapny 5 and 6 days a week for 9 years! He used their trucks, tools, was told what time to show up,when he could quit work. if he could take a lunch or not usually not! He ran the crews some of the times, he did receive a 1099, he had to pay half of his workmans comp. IRS said he was technically an employee and if hubby wanted to give them the name of the company they would look into it but at the time he was a loyal emploee of theirs and didnt want to risk losing his job.
They screwed him over for the last time a few months ago and he walked away but he still wont turn them in. He owes about 20000 in back taxes!
did i mention hubby has a screw loose lol i think the high altitudes from the bucket truck has taken effect lol
