A simple check with a meter at the back of the sets would save you a lot of trouble.You may want to invest a few bucks if your going to be doing much cable work.
Not trying to be a wise ass but this is part of being a professional at your trade.
Most of this equipment is made in China, assembled in Mexico and to get any type of trouble shooting done a meter is a must.
