I had pretty good service from a Porter Cable 14.4 volt but it had a couple of drops from the bucket that cracked the handle. It still worked with a little duct tape to hold it together but after a while I decided to get a milwaukee 14.4 and it does have a noticable amount more power, but the Porter Cable was 3 years older by now. They both work fine up to .750, never tried either on 1 inch. I used a borrowed Dewalt 18 v for a while it certainly worked fine as well but I like the lighter weight of the 14.4 models. All three of these brands are pretty close to the top if not the top in the class.
