Next time you mention a 4040D, it would be a good thing to mention who make the unit. In this case I believe the unit is produced by ACTERNA. If you have all the options that the unit is capable off, it will do Signal Strenght in NTSC and QAM signal, BER and MER. You first must go in the programmation and tell the unit the specified channel, like in your case ch:90 and tell the unit the ch. is Digital and the type of QAM it is, ethier 64 or 256. Then all should be OK.
