Most definately BER can effect the return and visaversa in my experience.
If you have: cleaned the fiber at the TransReceiver or Transmitter, at the H.E. and the fiber at the return Receiver! And if you have shot 40 db at 21 mhz back from the Node to the H.E. and your levels are clean and proper at your HP 8591C?
INCLUDING: your "Laser" levels! If all that is clean and a go?
Then, my next step would be to isolate each leg of the Fiber Node!
In my experience, it's usually a Bridger that the levels are wrong.
But, I always started at the leg of the Node where the customer is fed off of and balanced forward and return to the customer.
99% of the time I either found levels bad or "water", "corrosion damage"!
But then again..........................
What the hell do I know..........................
