i'm a little late jumping in on this but i'd have to agree with the replies concerning the use of attenuator padding for the forward sweep. the use of a probe combined with the 10db attenuation works well with gainmaker so it makes sense that it would work with other s/a actives. you can, in a pinch, put together different values to get as close to 10db as possible. 8 or 9 works ok but try not to go over 10. the probe costs about $30 (that's what i paid for my last one anyway) and you really need to use it in conjunction with the pad. it's a little lengthy with the but i couldn't get a decent sweep without them together. also make sure you use it while getting your reference too and make sure you adjust your test point compensation or else you may be re-taking some pics. not that i've ever had to do that.
