1+ years of experience installing, splicing, and terminating fiber-optic cable (FTTH/OSP), including drop-bury experience. Comfortable working outdoors, at heights, and in confined spaces (vaults, crawlspaces, manholes). Fusion splicing and OTDR testing experience a plus.

Own hand tools and fiber test equipment (OTDR, power meter, fusion splicer a plus). Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle. Must pass a background check and drug test. SSN or valid EIN required (1099 independent contractor role).

Install, splice, and activate fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) service - from aerial/underground drops through in-home installation and customer connectivity.

Responsibilities
Install new fiber drops (aerial, underground, or combined) from terminal to TAP
Bury drops (locates confirmed, 6–10" depth) and restore disturbed ground conditions
Fusion splice drop pigtails and distribution splices to RUS PE-90 standard
Bore or trench conduit where required, with photo documentation
Install/activate ONT, router, and extenders; complete customer connectivity setup
Cross-connect at cabinet to activate terminal ports
Troubleshoot and complete basic repair/service calls
Document work per client standards; report or remove abandoned/damaged cable
