Qualifications

High school diploma, knowledge of fiber optic construction methods, testing, documentation, strong organizational and communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, valid driver's license, ability to travel to project locations as needed. English speaking.

Other Requirements

Portuguese and or Spanish language a plus.

Job Description

Communications Construction Corporation (C3) is seeking a motivated and organized **Assistant Splicing Manager** to support the daily operations of our fiber optic splicing division. This position works directly with the Splicing Manager to coordinate crews, manage schedules, monitor project progress, maintain documentation, and ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with client specifications.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced fiber technician or field supervisor looking to advance into operations and management.

Responsibilities

* Assist the Splicing Manager in coordinating day-to-day splicing operations.
* Help schedule in-house crews and subcontractors to meet production deadlines.
* Monitor project progress and communicate status updates to project management and customers.
* Prepare work schedules, production reports, budgets, material requests, and other project documentation.
* Track project quantities and ensure work is completed according to contract specifications.
* Coordinate with construction managers, project managers, and field supervisors to support efficient workflow.
* Assist with quality control by reviewing splice documentation, test results, and as-built records.
* Help maintain inventory of splicing equipment, tools, trailers, and materials.
* Coordinate equipment repairs, calibration, and maintenance as needed.
* Assist with onboarding, training, and mentoring apprentice and junior splicers.
* Support implementation of company safety policies and ensure crews comply with customer requirements.
* Visit job sites as necessary to provide field support, resolve issues, and maintain production.
* Assist with customer communication regarding schedules, outages, and project milestones.
* Help identify opportunities to improve production efficiency and reduce operational costs.
* Support recruiting efforts for new splicing personnel.
* Perform other duties assigned by the Splicing Manager.
