Job Description

**Job Description – Fiber Optic Splicer**

At Structure Fiber Optics, we're looking for an experienced Fiber Optic Splicer to join our growing team in the Atlanta area. This position is responsible for splicing, testing, troubleshooting, and maintaining fiber optic networks for commercial and telecommunications customers.

The ideal candidate is someone who takes pride in producing clean work, can work independently, and understands that troubleshooting is just as important as making a splice. We work on a variety of outside plant projects including maintenance, emergency outages, business services, high-count fiber, and network expansions.

### Responsibilities

* Perform fiber optic fusion splicing on single fiber and ribbon fiber cables.
* Install, prepare, organize, and dress splice enclosures and terminals.
* Read and interpret fiber prints, splice matrices, schematics, and work orders.
* Test fiber using OTDRs, light source/power meters, and identify network issues.
* Troubleshoot fiber outages and restore service quickly and efficiently.
* Perform aerial and underground fiber work in bucket trucks, handholes, manholes, and vaults.
* Document completed work with accurate test results, photos, and as-built information.
* Maintain company equipment, vehicles, and tools.
* Follow all OSHA and company safety procedures.
* Represent Structure Fiber Optics professionally while working with customers and utility partners.

### What We're Looking For

We're not just looking for someone who can splice fiber—we're looking for someone who understands the network. The right candidate should be able to think through problems, diagnose issues in the field, and deliver quality work without constant supervision.

If you have experience with Comcast plant, high-count fiber, business services, Metro-E, DWDM/CWDM, or emergency restoration work, that's a huge plus.

### Why Work With Us?

Structure Fiber Optics is a growing company built by people who came from the field. We value hard work, communication, and quality over cutting corners. We offer consistent work, opportunities to grow with the company, and the chance to be part of a team that's building something long-term.

If you're dependable, take pride in your work, and want to work with a company that values skilled technicians, we'd love to hear from you.
