Job Description
Responsibilities
• Perform single fiber and ribbon fusion splicing (SWR or flat) on OS2/G.652.D fiber.
• Handle, dress, and splice large count fiber cables in data center cabinets.
• Install LC/UPC pigtails at EOR patch panels.
• Maintain proper tray management, bend radius, and splice organization.
• Conduct bi directional OTDR testing on every splice (1 km launch reel).
• Perform OLTS testing at nm.
• Work safely within an active construction and data center environment.
Qualifications
• Extensive experience as a fusion splice technician.
• Proven ability to work with count fiber.
• Data center experience required.
• Strong understanding of construction site safety.
5yrs Equipment Needed
Technicians must have:
• Core alignment single fusion splicer
• Mass fusion splicer (200µm & 250µm)
• OTDR & OLTS test equipment ( nm)
• Fiber cleaver, stripper, cleaning tools
• Required PPE: Type II hardhat, cut resistant gloves, steel toe boots, hi vis gear
Schedule & Project Details
• 7 days/week, 12 hour shifts
• HOURLY compensation
• Start in 2–4 weeks
• Project duration: 6–8 months
