Job Description
HTSAL Fiber Optics is staffing up for a new Uniti fiber buildout in the Granite Quarry, NC area. We're hiring 5 installation technicians to run residential fiber installs. No extensive experience required — Uniti provides one-day onboarding plus a ride-along to get you up to speed.
What you'll do
NO PER DIEM
You'll handle full fiber installations from the cross-connect to the customer premise — aerial drops (averaging ~300 ft) and temporary buried drops (no digging required). Each job includes ONT install, service activation, Wi-Fi gateway/router setup, plus TV and voice. No fusion splicing and no trouble tickets — installs only.
Pay
Flat, all-inclusive rate paid per completed installation. Uniti routes up to 4-6 jobs per day per tech, and you can take on more when they're available — there's no cap on your earnings. If a job on your route is unproductive, call dispatch right away and they'll swap in a replacement so your day stays full. Note: there's no guaranteed minimum workload, no extra pay for drops over 300 ft, and no trouble-ticket pay.
Schedule
Monday–Saturday, 8:00 a.m.–6:30 p.m. local. You must be willing and able to work 6 days a week when requested.
Report to: 8145 US 52, Rockwell, NC — materials are picked up here directly from Uniti (you can grab inventory days or a full week ahead). Dispatch and routing run through the Uniti OFS Mobile App and Field Tech Dashboard.
What you need to bring (before day one)
Work vehicle that can display a Uniti contractor magnet (available via WinBuy)
Apple device — iPhone or iPad, iPhone 10 or newer (Android is not supported by the dispatch platform)
Tools: light meter, cleaver kit, and a phone test set for VoIP
