Fiber Technicians Join a Growing Team
First Coast Fiber Solutions is actively seeking experienced fiber splicers and Field Supervisors to join our small but rapidly growing team. We are looking for motivated, dependable professionals with strong field experience and the ability to work independently or as part of a crew.
Supervisor-
Ability to read prints and effectively survey job sites/ White line
Strong understanding of safety practices and industry standards
Reliable, hardworking, and team-oriented mindset.
Fiber splicers-
We are seeking an experienced Fiber Splicer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with fiber optic splicing, testing, troubleshooting, and network documentation. This role requires a motivated individual who can work independently while maintaining high-quality workmanship and safety standards.
Responsibilities
* Perform fusion splicing of single-mode and multi-mode fiber optic cables.
* Read and interpret splice matrices, fiber schematics, and network design documents.
* Conduct OTDR testing, power meter testing, and fiber certification.
* Troubleshoot fiber optic network issues and identify faults.
* Prepare splice enclosures, cabinets, and termination panels.
* Maintain accurate as-built documentation and testing records.
* Ensure compliance with company safety policies and industry standards.
* Coordinate with project managers, supervisors, and field crews to ensure timely project completion.
* Perform quality control inspections and corrective actions as needed.
Qualifications
* Minimum 2 years of fiber splicing experience preferred.
* Experience with FTTH, OSP, and backbone fiber networks.
* Proficient in fusion splicing equipment and fiber testing tools.
* Ability to read and understand construction prints and splice diagrams.
* Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
* Ability to travel as required.
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Preferred Skills
* Experience with rural broadband projects.
* Knowledge of aerial and underground fiber construction methods.
* Familiarity with GIS, as-built documentation, and fiber management systems.
* OSHA certification or equivalent safety training.
