Qualifications
-- 5+ years experience in UG Construction -- Prior project management experience - Understanding of fiber optic installation and UG utility practices -- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and utility maps - Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and trenching/excavation requirements - Valid driver's license with acceptable driving history - Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Underground Supervisor to lead field crews supporting fiber optic and underground telecommunications infrastructure projects throughout Vermont. This role is responsible for overseeing daily construction activities, ensuring safety compliance, maintaining project schedules, and coordinating with project managers, customers, utility partners and inspectors.
--Supervise underground telecom construction crews
--Plan, assign, and monitor daily field activities to meet production goals
--Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety standards, OSHA regulations, and company policies
--Interpret construction drawings, utility prints, and project specifications
--Coordinate with general contractors, utility companies, and local municipalities
--Track job progress, materials, and equipment usage
--Troubleshoot field issues and implement effective solutions to minimize delays
--Conduct site safety meetings and enforce proper PPE usage and safe work practices
--Maintain accurate daily reports and job documentation
