Job Qualifications – Yard Manager / Equipment Handler (Illinois)
Position Overview:
The Yard Manager is responsible for overseeing all incoming and outgoing materials, maintaining yard organization, and safely operating equipment such as telehandlers to support daily operations.
Required Qualifications:
-Valid Illinois Driver’s License with a clean driving record
-Proven ability or willingness to learn to operate a telehandler (reach forklift) safely and efficiently
-Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage yard inventory, materials, and equipment flow
-Ability to track and document incoming and outgoing materials accurately
-Basic understanding of construction materials, equipment, and yard operations preferred
-Ability to work in outdoor environments in varying weather conditions
-Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain a clean, organized, and safe yard
-Good communication skills and ability to coordinate with field crews and management
Preferred Qualifications:
-Prior experience in a construction yard, logistics, or warehouse environment
-Experience operating heavy equipment such as telehandlers, forklifts, or loaders
-Basic computer skills for tracking inventory and materials
Additional Requirements (Illinois Compliance):
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
Must comply with all Illinois safety and labor regulations
Pre-employment drug screening and background check may be required
