Qualifications
Requirements: Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required; Must provide own truck, tools, ladders, and fusion splicer; Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions; Ability to climb ladders and perform physical work; Strong attention to detail and professional customer interaction.
Other Requirements
Preferred Experience: FTTH or telecommunications installation experience; Cable, satellite, or internet service installation; Experience running drops and installing exterior wiring; Familiarity with fiber tools such as cleavers, strippers, and light meters
Job Description
Island Wiring LLC is seeking a dependable FTTH Installer to perform residential fiber internet installations in the Birmingham, AL area. This position involves installing fiber service from the network to the customer’s home, ensuring clean, professional installations and excellent customer experience.
We are looking for technicians who take pride in their work, understand productivity expectations, and maintain strong safety standards in the field.
Responsibilities:
Install Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) services for residential customers
Run fiber drops from the tap to the home
Install and secure fiber along exterior walls and entry points
Mount and connect ONTs and customer equipment
Test and verify service connectivity and signal levels
Educate customers on equipment and basic service use
Document work completed through the work order system
