Qualifications
Qualified vendors must possess proven expertise in fiber optics, splicing, and GIS documentation. Candidates should have at least 1 mid to senior-level experience in fiber splicing, testing (including OTDR and fusion splicing). You must also demonstrate the ability to work independently as a small crew on projects while maintaining professional standards and delivering consistent results
Other Requirements
Valid driver’s licenses and clean background checks are required, as is the ability to travel and work across multiple states as an independent vendor. Safety is paramount with zero tolerance for unsafe practices.
Job Description
We are an established subcontractor specializing in fiber optic and cable infrastructure, partnering directly with major prime contractors in the telecom industry. We are seeking small, independent crews to engage as 1099 vendors on projects across the Southeast. This is strictly a vendor relationship—you are not joining our company as employees. Our model emphasizes efficiency, support, and minimal bureaucracy, allowing you to focus on fieldwork while we handle coordination and backend processes. As a vendor, you will operate autonomously with your own business structure, insurance, and equipment, billing us for completed work.
Projects involve fiber splicing ranging from urban expansions to rural deployments. With projects actively launching in FL, AL, GA, NC, SC, KY, TN, and VA, there is flexibility to align with your crew’s location and availability. Expect a mix of short-term and extended contracts with potential for long-term vendor partnerships. You will arrive on-site ready to work, perform fiber splicing and testing (including OTDR and fusion splicing), and installations as an independent vendor. You will document work directly in our user-friendly GIS system and submit dailies for review while maintaining high standards of quality and safety on all jobs, adhering to your own vendor protocols. You may collaborate with our team for any on-site support or resource pulls to meet deadlines, while retaining full independence.
No as-builts, workbooks, or excessive paperwork are required—just efficient, focused execution. As a 1099 vendor, you will handle your own taxes, benefits, and business compliance.
We are not the right fit for everyone. Larger companies with established SOPs or those requiring top-tier rates to cover overhead may find this a mismatch. If you are a small, agile vendor team, this could be your ideal setup.
