Qualifications
Five or more years of telecommunications experience. Experience with fiber optic cable and connectivity products (FOSC,fiber terminals,SLT and Ribbon). A high degree of technical aptitude. Excellent communication, presentation, and digital literacy, including PowerPoint. Ability to travel upwards of 50% in normal circumstances. Able to work indoors and outdoors, occasionally extreme outdoor environments. Located near Catawba, NC or within the territory of FL, or GA,AL,MS, or MS,LA,AR.
Other Requirements
You will excite us if you have: A bachelor's degree, prefer in technical subject area. Two or more years of progressive technical product experience, internships may qualify. Outside plant network design and engineering experience.
Job Description
As a Field Application Engineer at CommScope, you will play a crucial role in maintaining our leadership position in customer sales and support for fiber optic cable, connectivity, and other products and services for the Service Provider marketplace. You will be the go-to person for providing training and support to our customer base while also assisting the field sales team with rapid and thorough complaint resolution and technical support. This position also allows you to identify and propose new product concepts to meet evolving customer needs. Be prepare for extensive travel within your territory and occasional travel to other parts of the US.
Field Application Engineers are telecommunications career professionals that serve as trusted advisors to both internal and external customers. Able to solve challenging problems and provide technical guidance that yields improved business performance. Comfortable engaging with installation technicians through to C-Level in pre- and post-sales activities.
Responsible for direct support of internal and external customers to provide technical assistance on fiber cable and connectivity products and be an active member of the sales team to represent the company products. Responsible for all technical aspects of pre- and post-sales activities with FTTP Service Providers on product information, installations, quality troubleshooting, and FTTx architectures. Responsible for providing the voice of customer to product management and product development teams to bring technical and operational perspective into the product development process. This includes the development and delivery of hands on or presentation of CommScope products. Experience with OSP construction, cable and connectivity products (FOSC, OFDC, OTE, Terminals, SLT, Ribbon), and FTTx architectures.
Frequently contributes to the development of new theories and methods. Works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors. Exercises judgement within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods. techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
