Contractors must be reliable, professional, and capable of delivering high-quality work that meets industry and client standards.
Underground Drop Installation
• Install direct-buried flat drop fiber per project design requirements.
• Maintain standard burial depths:
• 8–12 inches in soft soil.
• 8–12 inches under sidewalks or driveways (including conduit/sleeve protection when required).
• Install tracer wire or use toneable drop cable as specified by the Owner.
• Provide proper slack loops (typically 5–10 feet) on both ends.
• Label all drop ends clearly per Owner standards.
• Backfill, tamp, seed, restore, and leave each property in equal or better condition than before work began.
Testing & Documentation
• Perform end-to-end optical loss testing (OTDR or light-source/power-meter) at nm wavelengths.
• Submit electronic test results including:
• Drop location
• Terminal ID
• Customer ID
• Measured loss values
• Provide complete as-built documentation, including:
• Route deviations (if applicable)
• Footage lengths
• Test data
Restoration & Cleanup
• Restore all disturbed surfaces — lawns, soil, concrete, or asphalt — to pre-construction condition or better.
• Remove debris, excess materials, and waste daily.
• Contractor is responsible for repairing any damage caused during installation activities.
