Experienced in both residential and commercial environments with a strong record of safety, reliability, and on-time project completion.

Job Description – Fiber I&R Maintenance Technician (1099 Contractor)
We are seeking an experienced Fiber Installation & Repair (I&R) Maintenance Technician to support residential, commercial, and OSP/ISP fiber networks. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, safety-focused technician who is fully equipped with a reliable work vehicle, proper PPE, and all required fiber-optic tools, including a fiber splicer, OTDR, power/light meter, and standard hand tools.
Responsibilities
Perform installation, repair, and maintenance of fiber-optic services for residential and commercial customers.
Troubleshoot fiber issues using OTDR, light meters, and diagnostic tools to identify and resolve network faults.
Install and activate NIU/ONT devices, CPE equipment, drop fiber, jacks, and related components.
Conduct light-level testing, verification, and documentation of all completed work.
Support OSP maintenance activities, including fiber repairs, testing, and service restoration.
Interpret network schematics, maps, and work orders to ensure correct installation and repair processes.
Maintain compliance with safety standards and use proper PPE and job-site procedures.
Communicate professionally with customers, supervisors, and dispatch to ensure timely job completion.
Manage inventory, equipment, and tools while maintaining accurate job notes and documentation.
Operate independently as a 1099 contractor with minimal supervision.
Requirements

Fiber splicer, OTDR, power/light meter, safety gear, and all standard tools required for fiber I&R work.
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills for diagnosing fiber service issues.
Experience with OSP/ISP fiber systems, NIU/ONT installation, and CPE activation.
Ability to interpret fiber network designs, pathway plans, and technical documentation.
Excellent communication, customer-service, and time-management abilities.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines consistently.
Must operate as a 1099 independent contractor.
