This role requires a strong understanding of electrical systems, fiber splicing, and the ability to work at heights using bucket trucks. The Lineperson will play a crucial role in ensuring reliable communication services for our clients.
Duties
Install, maintain, and repair fiber optic and copper telecommunication lines.
Perform fiber splicing and testing to ensure optimal signal quality.
Read and interpret schematics to troubleshoot network issues effectively.
Climb poles and towers as necessary to install or repair lines.
Utilize hand tools and equipment safely and efficiently in various environments.
Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects.
Conduct routine inspections of network infrastructure to identify potential issues.
Maintain compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
Skills
Proficiency in fiber splicing techniques and tools.
Strong understanding of electrical systems related to telecommunications.
Ability to interpret technical schematics accurately.
Experience working with bucket trucks for aerial installations.
Knowledge of IT infrastructure components and their integration into network systems.
Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in various weather conditions.
