Job Description
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Telecommunications Construction Permitting Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in obtaining the necessary permits and approvals for telecommunications construction projects. This position requires strong knowledge of permitting processes, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with internal teams, external agencies, and municipalities.
Key Responsibilities
• Research and identify all required permits for telecommunications construction projects, including local, state, and federal requirements.
• Prepare and submit complete permit applications, ensuring all required documentation is included.
• Ensure all construction projects comply with zoning codes, environmental regulations, and other applicable laws.
• Stay updated on changes to permitting regulations and communicate updates to the relevant teams.
• Work closely with project managers, engineers, and construction teams to gather necessary information for permit applications.
• Serve as the main point of contact for permitting authorities and address their inquiries or requests promptly.
• Maintain accurate records of all permits, approvals, and related correspondence.
• Track the status of applications and provide regular updates to the project team.
• Identify and resolve permitting issues that may arise during the application process.
• Proactively address delays or challenges to ensure project timelines are met.
Qualifications
• 2+ years of experience in permitting or a similar role, preferably in the telecommunications or construction industry.
• Strong understanding of permitting processes and regulations.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and permitting software.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with diverse teams and stakeholders.
• Problem-solving skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Familiarity with NJUNS program, GIS systems and mapping tools (a plus).
• Ability to travel occasionally to meet with permitting authorities or inspect project sites.
