Qualifications

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams.

Must have your own general liability insurance.
Must have a smartphone or digital camera and be proficient in uploading photos to online databases.
Must have reliable transportation suitable for carrying equipment and ladders. Fusion splicer is preferred but not required; light source and power meter are necessary.
Basic hand tools for cable management and equipment installation.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced crew to join our growing team in Durham as independent contractors (1099).
Position Summary:
NAS is looking for a self-sufficient FTTH Inside Plant Installation Crew to handle installations, terminations, and testing of fiber optic network equipment within residential and commercial buildings. This primarily involves working with ONTs, MDUs, and other network equipment, with minimal cable pulling through walls. This is a 1099 contract position for an established crew, starting February 3rd, 2025.
Responsibilities:
Install and configure Optical Network Terminals (ONTs) in customer premises.
Install and connect fiber optic cables to Multi-Dwelling Units (MDUs).
Perform fusion splicing of fiber optic cables with precision and accuracy (splicer can be provided).
Conduct thorough testing of fiber optic lines using a light source and meter to ensure optimal signal strength and quality.
Troubleshoot and resolve any connectivity or signal issues.
Maintain accurate records of all work performed, including test results, equipment installations, and uploading photos of completed work to the client's database.
Adhere to all safety regulations and industry best practices.
